July 25, 200619 yr I am currently using the FE sky, water, and clouds instead of using the ASG cloud and sky set. I am just wondering how many of us are using FE in conjunction with AS6 ?? I am just questioning whether I am missing out not utilizing ASG.ThanksAndy
July 26, 200619 yr Why don't you simply try it? All ASG will do is the same that FE does: overwrite cloud/sky textures (though ASG will not change the water).Just try ASG for a couple of weeks and see if you're satisfied.I meander between the two programs (FE and ASG) with no problems. Hope this helps.
July 26, 200619 yr My experience is that FE makes for more beautiful skies in weather with few clouds, mainly cirrus, or just clear skies. Tith thick, low cumulus, heavy rains, CBS etc. ASG looks much more realistic. Mind you, there are lots of combinations with FE ...
July 26, 200619 yr hello all,is it possible to run asv6/asg with fe, but let fe choose the water-texture and asv6/asg the main weather and sky-texture??? and what settings i have to do, that it works together???and the other thing is, that i use bluesky 2.0, that make the sky look so realitic: http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...id=28281&page=4so, can i use these programs together???thx for hlp... kind regardsJan Koehne Germany (EDDV)
July 26, 200619 yr Hi,Yes, and I would use ASG manually in order to hand pick the textures so that none of the others would be over-written.So:Run FE and choose your water.Run ASG and choose your clouds.Run ASv6 for the weather.Start FS04 and fly.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://dot.kelder.net:8080/fseconomy/
July 27, 200619 yr For some reason, I get better framerates and smoother flights using ASG instead of FE. Although I liked the FE clouds, the ASG clouds look excellent too.Try them both and use what works best for you. You will be happy either way.
July 27, 200619 yr >and the other thing is, that i use bluesky 2.0, that make the>sky look so realitic:>http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...id=28281&page=4where do i get this bluesky???i searched on avsim and google and didnt find anything.thx in advance greets burt
July 27, 200619 yr I did not like that BLUSKY addon at all. It was not all it's cracked up to be, and imho, deteriorated anything that ASG can do - much better. I would follow the list of tips that was mentioned earlier in that post for better results.Just my opinion.Neil :)
July 28, 200619 yr hello all, sorry for my late answer, but i was not at home...@ Burton:>where do i get this bluesky???http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=87188@Neil>It was not all it's cracked up to be, and imho, deteriorated anything that ASG can do - much better. I would follow the list of tips that was mentioned earlier in that post for better resultsSo Neil, say me, how i can get such pictures with that framerates and a blurr horizon and not the fs9 standard horizon, that looks cutted and unreal...kind regardsJan Koehne Germany (EDDV)
July 28, 200619 yr Hi Jan, No offense intended at all to you or the author/creator of the file. That being said, for me, it did nothing to improve, but did everything to make the sky look too icy blue. I just didn't like it after messing with it. But,like I mentioned, the tips in that post to select/save/and use the newly created WX Influenced (smooth sky), or whatever, really did an awsome job of clearing up the horizon line problem. Now I want to experiment with the other smooth sky settings in ASG to see the diferences. Did you try that tip? How did it work for you if you did?I did it the other night for the first time and was very impressed, and thank the poster for mentioning it!Have fun, again - my reply was not meant with sarcasm.Neil :)
July 29, 200619 yr thx jan :)the smooth sky option in ASG improves indeed the horizon line.my problem is however that at a certain altitude, say 20000ft, the whole ground clears up with very intense colors. so the horizon is beautiful but the ground looks so unrealistic without any haze.of cousre u can solve this problem by deselecting 'depict fs9 haze layer', but thats not the ideal solution...
July 29, 200619 yr hi burton, hi all,>thx jan :)no problem...>the smooth sky option in ASG improves indeed the horizon>line.it did, but to a certain altitude...see next...>say 20000ft, the whole ground clears up with very intense colors. the same to me... i found it unrealistic...>of cousre u can solve this problem by deselecting 'depict fs9>haze layer', but thats not the ideal solution...and that
July 30, 200619 yr i guess at the current state u cant do it right ;)i also tried lots of combinations of textures and AS-settings but nothing helps except the fs9 layer thingy.so i will have to stick to it for some while...
July 31, 200619 yr One more question......Can i simply load FE first and overide my current ASG clouds and grafics, just using the the weather engine.and will I have to do that every time to use FE... Thanks.........
