July 28, 200619 yr 1) When upgrading to a new service release, if I run Active Sky on a WideFS pc, to I have to run the service upgrade on both PCs or only the WideFS PC? (out of curiosity, where do the actual graphics files come from when running Active Sky on a WideFS pc?)2) What is the difference between the following two scenarios:First one: Just opening up Active Sky and letting it run as normal with all the settings set to automatically DL weather, etc..Second one: Same as above but importing a flight plan. The reason I ask is, if AS updates automatically anyway, why bother with going through all this (import fp, process, etc.) in the beginning if it will keep my weather up to date every xx minutes anyway?I hope the question makes sense.Regards,Jeff
July 28, 200619 yr Hi Jeff,Thanks for the questions.1A. Only on the WideFS PC. ASv6 should not be on the FS04 computer at all.1B. The graphics files reside on the WideFS pc and are sent over your network to your FS04 installation.2. A plan can do a number of things: -Set environmental textures if using wx Influenced themes. -Generate a NavLog which can show you weather along the way. -Allow you to use FlightWatch to voice your departure, current, and destination weather conditions in FS04. -Force certain weather conditions based on departing or destination factors. Not many users use these options.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://dot.kelder.net:8080/fseconomy/
