August 18, 200619 yr Hello! After I've seen all the high ratings of AS v6 I would like to purchase it. My only problem is that the pc i am running my FS on is not internet connected yet. I wanted to ask experienced users whether I can still use the AS v6 to customize my weather without downloading reqalworld weather from the internet or is internet connection absolutely essential.Thank you for your help!
August 18, 200619 yr Hi,Thanks for your interest in our product!Yes you can design your own weather with Wx Configurator and a little knowledge of METARs.If you have any computer that has Internet you can install AS on that machine and get real time weather, save the weather data and move it to your FS04 computer. A hours worth of world-wide data will fit on a floppy disk! Please ask if you have more questions!Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
August 24, 200619 yr Thank you for swift reply, Jim!Your explanations are satisfying and I will definately purchase AS.One more thing though - if I use it on two PC's, as you are suggesting (one to download weather, other to use with FS) won't I then need to purchase the product twice? Isn't the payware addon usually IP-specific and can be registered only on one PC?As far as I understand, the FSUIPC is not required?Regards,Kirill
August 24, 200619 yr Hi,As long as you use one copy at a time you are OK. I really don't want to give out the details here, but if you would like you can e-mail me.FSUIPC.dll is required, but the registered version is optional. Many use the unregistered version just fine. You can help support Pete and his efforts by purchasing the registration.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
