FS9 Minimizing

Featured Replies

Hi Jim and Damian,I see that this has been discussed before, however I can't find anything specific to my situation.(Note, I have not done any simming all summer as I've been busy with my other hobby. Just started again and ran into this problem.)I am running the current ASv6 (build 523.)When ASv6 does its first automatic update *after* I have started my flight, FS9 minimizes. I can bring it back and continue on without problem, and it does not minimize again for that flight.Here's my start procedure:ASv6 is in Online mode.Start ASv6 in paused mode.Download current weather.Load flight plan and process.Refresh to set textures. (ASG icon appears in SysTray and stays. GEPro is launched and does its thing.)Start FS9.Load flight.Refresh to set weather. (ASG icon still there. FS9 does not minimize.)Refresh AI.Start the flight.On first ASv6 automatic update, FS9 minimizes. (ASG icon still there, ASv6 screen shows weather stations being set.)Restore FS9 and continue flying. FS9 does not minimize again.FS9 is in full screen mode.Here's my ASv6.ini file://ASv6 configuration file Build 523[General]WindowPosX = 20520WindowPosY = 7290DefaultWeatherFolder = E:FlightSimModulesASv6WeatherSuppressionCeiling = 4000SurfaceWindLimit = 10FS9Path = E:FlightSimPersonalAppDataFolder = D:Documents and SettingsJetCrashApplication DataCloudLayerLimit = 5LocalSuppressionRange = 100MinimumVisibility = 0MaximumVisibility = 59AutoVasFrequency = 30AutoVasStrength = 10TurbulenceFrequency = 100DefaultStartupLocation = CYOWDefaultGraphicsFullTheme = Wx-InfluencedDefaultGraphicsCirrusTheme = Wx-InfluencedAutoSubmitGraphicsTheme = TrueIncreasedWake = FalseDisableWindsAloft = FalseForcePrimaryServer = FalseForceSecondaryServer = FalseGEProAutoSubmit = TrueUseFetchedStationforGEPro = TrueShowDecodedMBasDecimal = FalseSkyOverride = GEPROFavorCumulus = TrueForceRoutePressure = FalseForceLowestCeiling = FalseUnpauseOnReadyStatus = FalseDisableWriteThrottle = TrueDisableProcessThrottle = TrueForceTstormsWithCB = TrueAutoSetFSTime = FalseIgnoreFSLocationUntilReady = TrueAutoConvertPlanFiles = TrueAutoRefreshAI = FalseDisableVisGraduation = FalseEnableGEProWideFSMode = FalseExtendedThrottling = FalseForceRouteAloftTemp = FalseOfflinePlayback = FalseEnableVAS = TrueAutoGenVAS = FalseForceDestinationWeatherZone = FalsePreventIcing = TrueOnlineUpdates = TrueExtendedDestinationWindsForce = FalseDisableAllGroundUpdates = FalseGlobalWrites = FalseDepictFS9HazeLayer = FalseExtendTstormLayers = TrueDisableDirectWindControl = FalseVoicePlayback = TrueLocalSuppression = TrueStartupSound = FalseDisableGroundUpdates = FalseUseProxyServer = FalseFogLayerGeneration = FalseUpdateSuppression = TrueOvercastEnhancement = TrueIgnoreFSReadyStatus = TrueFSUIPCWindSmoothing = TrueLimitSurfaceWinds = FalseLimitCloudLayers = TrueAutoGlobalWriteToggle = TrueRainWithTS = TrueDisableUpperLayerGeneration = FalseVisibilitySmoothing = TrueDisableMessages = TrueAutoTimeZoneDetection = TrueUpdateInterval = 10VATSIMData = FalseZuluConversion = -4AloftPredictability = 100WindDriftRate = 0MaxCloudThickness = 10000MinStratusSeparation = 7000TAFProcessing = FalseEnforceVisibilityLimits = TrueWakeTurb = FalseStartPaused = TrueUseSystemTime = FalseDisableCAVOKClouds = FalseProxyAddress = NONELastPlanFolder = E:FlightSimFlightsHopping Around the WorldAny ideas?Thanks,...jim

Hi Jim,Welcome back!See if you have any task switch options set On in FS04 General Options. Please let us know as this is a very system specific situation.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

Hi Jim,I'm betting a picture is worth a few words. And it's probably clearer than a description. Heh.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/158070.jpgRegards,...jim

Hi Jim,Do you have Tweak UI from MS? I would suggest that small program because under the General menu there is a tweak for Prevent Applications from stealing focus. Thanks, Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

No, I don't. But I'll give it a try and let you know the results.Regards,...jim

Hi Jim,Sorry for the delay getting back to this. I discovered FSX Deluxe on the shelf at the local Best Buy, and, well, I've been distracted for the last few days. Heh.But, it turns out that was a good thing. While distracted with FSX, I had the same minimize problem. And that was with ASv6 *not* running!Turns out it was not ASv6 stealing focus, it appears that it was a recent update to ZoneAlarm that is doing it about 10 minutes after boot up. It was just coincidence that ASv6 was doing an update at the time it happened. And it was coincidence that I updated ZoneAlarm at about the same time I started simming again. And I've now noticed it trying to steal focus on my regular WinXP installation (I dual boot my system.)So, I've just installed TweakUI and made that change you suggested. Hopefully that will resolve this issue.Good news is it is not an ASv6 issue.Regards,...jim
