ASV Trying to Start with FS Copilot and FS Inn

Featured Replies

I recently re-installed Flight Sim and am having a problem. I have uninstalled Active Sky but am Unable to Remove Active Sky 2004.5 from my Add Remove Programs list because it claims it's dependant on another version of Active Sky which is no longer there. With that said, When I start Flight Sim and start FS Copilot Active Sky tries to open and install on it's own. I have to hit cancel 7 or 8 times till it finally stops and then Copilot starts. I have to go through that same procedure when I start FS Inn on the computer before I connect to VATSIM. Also, When I select to get the Weather report (METAR) from FS Inn it again tries to open Active Sky.I have uninstalled evertying Active Sky on my Computer with the exception of the one that refuses to go away in the Add/Remove Programs list. All Active Sky files and folders are deleted. I even went through my registry and removed all Active Sky Registry Keys.I have verified all my setting in FS Copilot and FS Inn and have nothing selected that would cause Active Sky to attempt to open. Why is Active Sky refusing to die on my computer???

Bump. Need Help with this.

Hi,Sorry for the problem. It may be that the problem is in FSC and FSIn being mis-associated with AS. So let's try to remove those 2 and then reinstall to reset the associations for those 2 programs. To clean up AS I can suggest this:http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...Ben-us%3B290301Please let us know if we can be of more help!Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

Thanks for the response Jim. I've uninstalled and re-installed every single component of FS from top to bottom 3 times now. I also have made sure to delete the FS9 folder after uninstall to make sure there's no residual files. Your suggestion link to clean up the installer worked as far as removing AS 2004.5 from the Add/Remove Programs List. However, The AS 6/Graphics installer still tries to run everytime I start FSFDT and FSInn. It's truly a confusing problem because it never happened before I re-installed FS. I have again verified that Registry Keys don't exist that have anything to do with Active Sky. I just don't know if there's a file somewhere I don't know about or something. There is no Hi-Fi or Active Sky Folders anywhere on my computer. I'm not sure why this installer tries to run.If you have any more advice I'll take it. As it is though, since I have deleted all the files and folders, I no longer have to hit cancel for the Installer window to go away. It will sit there and flicker a few times (for like 1.5 seconds) then go away. It does not hinder FS at all. It's just those flickers of the installer I get when I open FSFDT, FSInn, or get a WX report from FSInn.I'm really at a loss. However, At the MCDU forums for FSInn there was a guy who said he had this exact problem and he removed the installer and it went away. So I'm not sure if I'm missing something or what.

Hi,Leave FS installed. Uninstall the 3 programs. Restart by installed AS, then see if things work. Then install one of the other two and see if things still work. Then the third. You need to determine which of these is associating itself with our installer. Then I would go to that program for specific help.Keep us up to date,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
