December 12, 200619 yr I just downloaded a package called "Real Sky Perfected".I think it just replaces some textures but I'm not sure. I want to continue to use Active Sky but how would I know if AS is replacing textures or not? Jeff
December 12, 200619 yr Hi Jeff,If you are automaticly submitting textures using auto-submit or using ASG then you are replacing textures. If auto-submit is checked off, or you are not using ASG, then textures and not being changed and you are just using Active Sky for your weather.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
December 30, 200619 yr Thanks Jim,So I just want to make sure I'm clear. I can install ActiveSky and as long as I don't check "Auto submit" nothing in FS9 will change. Is there a way to make sure I avoid replacing textures when installing? (in other words, can I install Active Sky without ASG?)Also, if I don't install ASG, what types of things will I miss? (Are there certain types of clouds that ASG has that FS9 just doesn't have?)Then my last question becomes; If I don't use ASG, what benefits do I get from AS as opposed to FS9 default?Jeff
December 30, 200619 yr Hi Jeff,1. Correct, or submiedt through ASG.2. By default ASG is off, so nothing in FS is replaced when installing.3. ASG will be installed, but not used. It is not types of clouds, but all the different textures we have, in a whole bunch of categories.4. You will still get all the weather features of AS and the Radar display in FS04. Many users have their own favorite textures and just use the weather portion of AS, so you are not alone in this regard.Thanks!Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
