Which textures in a BGL file ...?

Featured Replies

I'm looking for the util that could tell you which textures are used within a spesific bgl file? Please help because I've lost mine ...ThanxTerblanche

It may all depend on the bgl. If the bgl uses custom textures (such as for an airport of group of buildings), you could try to open up the bgl file in a hex editor, and simply do a search for the string "bmp", repeating the search until you get no more hits. I don't believe the bitmap names are compressed, so I think you might be able to view them in that way. It may even be possible to view the bgl in notepad if it's small enough. Some characters will be gibberish, but any text strings such as bmp names may be readable--but I again qualify this by saying that I am uncertain if the bgl's are compressed in such a way that no text is readable. It should be far easier for you to reinstall whatever scenery package it is that you are misssing textures from.-John
