Weird visibility

Featured Replies

When AS gives a metar report and on the front page it shows the visibility as 0nm and 405meters but that is not the way it is in the sim, the visibility was much higher, any idea what this is about?

Hi Mike,Thanks for writing. Are you limiting the minimum visibility? Are you using any "Force" options? Are you giving FS plenty of time to process the visibilty data? That is the last thing that FS draws and can take up to 5 minutes. Please let us know.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

Hey Jim, well I was flying from telluride to salt lake and the wx brief from airnav.com as well as active sky reported vis as 0nm 400meters and when i flew into kslc it certainly was no place near 0nm. Heres my asv6.5 ini, look ok?//ASv6.5 configuration file Build 533[General]WindowPosX = 3210WindowPosY = 900DefaultWeatherFolder = E:Flight Simulator 9SuppressionCeiling = 10000SurfaceWindLimit = 10FS9Path = E:Flight Simulator 9PersonalAppDataFolder = C:Documents and SettingsAdministratorApplication DataCloudLayerLimit = 10LocalSuppressionRange = 70MinimumVisibility = 38MaximumVisibility = 38LastPlanFolder = C:Documents and SettingsAdministratorMy DocumentsFlight Simulator FilesAutoVasFrequency = 25AutoVasStrength = 20TurbulenceFrequency = 60DefaultStartupLocation = KATLDefaultGraphicsFullTheme = Wx-InfluencedDefaultGraphicsCirrusTheme = Wx-InfluencedAutoSubmitGraphicsTheme = TrueIncreasedWake = TrueDisableWindsAloft = FalseForcePrimaryServer = FalseForceSecondaryServer = FalseGEProAutoSubmit = TrueUseFetchedStationforGEPro = TrueShowDecodedMBasDecimal = FalseSkyOverride = ASGFavorCumulus = FalseForceRoutePressure = FalseForceLowestCeiling = TrueUnpauseOnReadyStatus = FalseDisableWriteThrottle = FalseDisableProcessThrottle = FalseForceTstormsWithCB = TrueAutoSetFSTime = TrueIgnoreFSLocationUntilReady = TrueAutoConvertPlanFiles = TrueAutoRefreshAI = TrueDisableVisGraduation = FalseEnableGEProWideFSMode = FalseExtendedThrottling = FalseForceRouteAloftTemp = FalseOfflinePlayback = FalseEnableVAS = TrueAutoGenVAS = TrueForceDestinationWeatherZone = FalsePreventIcing = FalseOnlineUpdates = TrueExtendedDestinationWindsForce = FalseDisableAllGroundUpdates = FalseGlobalWrites = FalseDepictFS9HazeLayer = TrueExtendTstormLayers = TrueDisableDirectWindControl = FalseVoicePlayback = TrueLocalSuppression = TrueStartupSound = FalseDisableGroundUpdates = FalseUseProxyServer = FalseFogLayerGeneration = TrueUpdateSuppression = TrueOvercastEnhancement = TrueIgnoreFSReadyStatus = TrueFSUIPCWindSmoothing = TrueLimitSurfaceWinds = FalseLimitCloudLayers = FalseAutoGlobalWriteToggle = TrueRainWithTS = TrueDisableUpperLayerGeneration = FalseVisibilitySmoothing = TrueDisableMessages = TrueAutoTimeZoneDetection = TrueUpdateInterval = 5VATSIMData = FalseZuluConversion = -5AloftPredictability = 95WindDriftRate = 1MaxCloudThickness = 10000MinStratusSeparation = 7000TAFProcessing = TrueEnforceVisibilityLimits = TrueWakeTurb = TrueStartPaused = TrueUseSystemTime = TrueDisableCAVOKClouds = FalseProxyAddress = NONE

Hi Mike,Thanks, that makes things easier!Look here:MinimumVisibility = 38MaximumVisibility = 38With those set up that way, the only visibility you will ever get is 38.I would suggest changing the minimum visibility back to zero. After making this change, restart AS and FS04.This is why you got the results you did. Please let us know,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

Ahh thanks, I knew it must have been something silly, thanks for the prompt support as usual.
