February 15, 200719 yr I'm having problems using ASv6.5 in both FS9 and FSX (since I fly with both). Things seem to work well in FS9 - but not in FSX, where weather data simply isn't loading. FSUIPC for FSX is installed, so that can't be the problem. I have read nearly everything about the topic on this forum - to no avail. ASv6.5 has also been reinstalled, but this doesn't seem to have helped in any way either.http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m305/Ea...sv65_screen.jpg Here's my .ini-file://ASv6.5 configuration file Build 533[General]WindowPosX = 5985WindowPosY = 3420DefaultWeatherFolder = C:ProgramfilerMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9ModulesASv6SuppressionCeiling = 10000SurfaceWindLimit = 10FS9Path = C:ProgramfilerMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9PersonalAppDataFolder = C:Documents and SettingsMarkProgramdataCloudLayerLimit = 5LocalSuppressionRange = 100MinimumVisibility = 0MaximumVisibility = 59LastPlanFolder = NONEAutoVasFrequency = 30AutoVasStrength = 30TurbulenceFrequency = DefaultStartupLocation = ENTCDefaultGraphicsFullTheme = DefaultGraphicsCirrusTheme = AutoSubmitGraphicsTheme = FalseIncreasedWake = FalseDisableWindsAloft = FalseForcePrimaryServer = FalseForceSecondaryServer = FalseGEProAutoSubmit = TrueUseFetchedStationforGEPro = TrueShowDecodedMBasDecimal = FalseSkyOverride = GEPROFavorCumulus = FalseForceRoutePressure = FalseForceLowestCeiling = FalseUnpauseOnReadyStatus = FalseDisableWriteThrottle = FalseDisableProcessThrottle = FalseForceTstormsWithCB = FalseAutoSetFSTime = TrueIgnoreFSLocationUntilReady = TrueAutoConvertPlanFiles = TrueAutoRefreshAI = TrueDisableVisGraduation = FalseEnableGEProWideFSMode = FalseExtendedThrottling = FalseForceRouteAloftTemp = FalseOfflinePlayback = FalseEnableVAS = TrueAutoGenVAS = TrueForceDestinationWeatherZone = FalsePreventIcing = TrueOnlineUpdates = TrueExtendedDestinationWindsForce = FalseDisableAllGroundUpdates = FalseGlobalWrites = FalseDepictFS9HazeLayer = TrueExtendTstormLayers = FalseDisableDirectWindControl = FalseVoicePlayback = TrueLocalSuppression = FalseStartupSound = TrueDisableGroundUpdates = FalseUseProxyServer = FalseFogLayerGeneration = TrueUpdateSuppression = FalseOvercastEnhancement = TrueIgnoreFSReadyStatus = TrueFSUIPCWindSmoothing = TrueLimitSurfaceWinds = FalseLimitCloudLayers = TrueAutoGlobalWriteToggle = TrueRainWithTS = TrueDisableUpperLayerGeneration = FalseVisibilitySmoothing = TrueDisableMessages = FalseAutoTimeZoneDetection = TrueUpdateInterval = 10VATSIMData = FalseZuluConversion = 1AloftPredictability = 100WindDriftRate = 0MaxCloudThickness = 10000MinStratusSeparation = 7000TAFProcessing = TrueEnforceVisibilityLimits = TrueWakeTurb = FalseStartPaused = FalseUseSystemTime = TrueDisableCAVOKClouds = FalseProxyAddress = NONESure hope some one can help. I'm afraid I don't see any add-on menu, nor any mention of FSUIPC in the FSX menu. AS doesn't, as a result, recognize my current location. :(
February 16, 200719 yr Hi,Well, the place to start is Pete's forum here:http://forums.simflight.com/viewforum.php?...ee84ec7a7f145b0He has some specific suggestions and you need to get FSUIPC installed before AS and FSX can communicate.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
February 16, 200719 yr Thanks, Jim, I'll take a look at Pete's forum, but in the mean while, if anyone has had similar experiences, please let me know.
February 17, 200719 yr Hi again Jim, I just want you to know that this problem is related to McAfee's Privacy Service that I have installed on my PC. This was discovered after reading through a number of posts at Pete's forum. Once I uninstalled the Privacy Service, I saw the add-on menu in FSX and the FSUIPC tab! I have been in contact with McAfee about this. Their anti-virus and firewall package is top notch, but I'm afraid it imposes restrictions of some sort on FSX and Active Sky. Certainly hope they can do something about this. You and Pete might want to get together to raise this matter with McAfee. Please note that this issue is only related to their Privacy Service - and not the anti-virus and firewall. Just to let you know, Jim. :) Thanks for your excellent support!
