ASG & GEPro Config Help And Or Suggestions Please

Featured Replies

Hi, I have always used Flight Enviroment. Well I have just started really digging into the ASG & GEPro stuff and I really like it. I did read in the doc's about how ASG works off of pressure etc to try to depict the closest to the real deal. Well here is my question for that and the realest of the dealest I can get ASV & ASG and GEPro to depict the weather & textures sky etc. On ASV Under Options I have Full Sky Theme & Cirrus Theme both weather influenced & enable ASG Auto submit checked. Okay under ActiveSky Graphics It is listing Sky Theme Weather Influenced 3D clouds, Cirrus clouds, Sky Color & Enviroment all custom. So far do I have thing setup correct? For Weather Influenced Themes to depict correctly? Now with the GEPro before does it integrate or mix with what ASG has written to FS9 or is this kind of a seperate thing? I need to run one or the other? Like ASG doing it's thing or set a concrete theme in ASG and then work GEPro little confused on this especially off of what I have just read on a few posts tonight. LOL Nevermind. I just think I have answered my own question on that. If I do enable the GE-Pro it will still write ground textures and use ASG sky textures. And If I don't use ASG sky textures GEPro will do ground & sky correct? Oh and just to be sure... If i do decide to use GEPro Sky Textures. Should I go into ASG first and set a concrete them prior to that for GEPro to work off of? Thanks, JoshP.S. Sorry if this seem's a little confusing I am lost in a cloud layer somewhere with a vertigo of options here ;)Oh and while I am here what exactly is the difference between moon 1 high and Moon 1 Normal. Ok I am done for now (:(

Hi Josh,Thanks for writing!First, the easy one! Moon High is high resolution at 512X512 and Normal is 256X256.Next, you are all set for weather influenced textures so nothing there! Finally, the only overlap between ASG and GEP are the sky textures. You can automatically choose which program you want to supply those textures through Active Sky. Look at the Options Screen and on the middle right side there is a Force Sky line and you choose between GEP or ASG and that is it! After that. don't worry about it. All this does is set the order of the loading of the Sky textures and we know that the lat set submitted is the set that FS04 will use.Ask if you need more help!Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

Hi Jim,I am user of the same combination (ASV + GE Pro) plus Ultimate Terrain since some weeks. I am very satisfied (ASV I am using for a very long time - a top product!). A question, which I hadn't solved yet in detail with sky textures is, how the textures of ASG are compared to GE Pro. In ASG I have several possibilities to influence performance (selecting the resolution) but in GE I haven't found such a configuration choice. I know, that this also might be posted in the GE support forum, but perhaps you have any hint for me, how these two solutions might be compared.

Hi,Thanks for writing! The only overlap in textures are the sky textures and they are the same size. You should notice no performance difference bewteen the two.Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
