August 22, 200718 yr I can't seem to find anywhere (the forum or the documentation with ASX) how the weather is generated when automatic updates are disabled. Am I correct in assuming that the flight begins with current METARs that are downloaded during the flight briefing, then during the flight the TAFs from the same briefing are used to update the flight conditions along the route? Also, if automatic downloads are disabled and you do not get a flight briefing and go straight to a free flight, what weather will be depicted for the flight? Thanks,Tim H. Tim Hughes
August 23, 200718 yr Hi,A good question!Every time ASX downloads weather it saves it in a file called current downloaded weather. If you end a session by disabling automatic updates, then the next time ASX is started it will use this "current downloaded weather" file to start up. This file is over-written each time ASX download weather so, no you are not accumulating large numbers of files.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
August 23, 200718 yr Author Thanks Jim!I have been experimenting to see how the weather transition progresses during the flight in offline mode and wanted to be sure that processing a flight briefing was updating that very file...I didn't think that it would update every time ASX was started.Regards, Tim H.
