November 3, 200718 yr I have just purchased AFX having left ASV6 behindMy problem is I am getting the simconnect error message and my problem is as follows:I realize I need to uninstall and reinstall FSX SP1 as I have read many of the previous posts about similar problemsI have just reinstalled Windows XP SP2 and somewhere along the line a problem has been introduced where by XP will not read some of my DVDs, not all just some. and you guessed it, cant read my FSX dvd dsc. I am trying to find a solution but no luck so far.The problem is that when I try to uninstall FSX SP1 it calls for the FSX DVD and cannot see the dvd in the drive at the moment.I have tried deleting the Sim connect file located in windows and reinstalling SP1 but that did not work?Any suggestions at this point would be most welcome.CheersPetehttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpg
November 3, 200718 yr Hi Pete,You are going to need to go through the steps from MS to get your DVD drive to recognize the FSX DVD. It may be as simple as a firmware update fro your DVD drive that Windows needs.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
