November 24, 200718 yr Hi Chris,After looking at some of your comments in this forum to users questions I would suggest you might want to remove the comment on the X Graphics setup screen regarding the (not recommended for 32 bit selection) beside the 512 X 512 check box. Users are selecting the 512 and then selecting the default dxts MS clouds and getting blocky clouds etc. and thinking your clouds are not right. This is causing some of the move to FEX for clouds while yours are fine. Just a suggestion you might want to check out. :) Gary
November 25, 200718 yr Hi Gary,Whom is getting blocky clouds? The suggestions are correct: 512 and 32 bit require a huge amount of graphics power and 512 and DXTS requires less.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
November 25, 200718 yr Hi Jim,I was referring to this thread concerning X Graphics clouds.http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=set...page=show_topicPerhaps I misunderstood Chris's reply. I have been getting some blocky cumulus formations so I was looking for more information on X Graphics settings when I came across this reply of Chris's.Gary
November 25, 200718 yr OK thanks. Are you still getting blocky clouds?Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
November 25, 200718 yr Hi Jim,The clouds are fine now, thanks! I played around with the X Graphics settings and figured out what Chis was talking about in the referenced thread. I see he meant set the 512 and DXTS combination and make sure your resolution settings in FSX are xxxx x 32. I sometimes have trouble interpreting Chris's instructions. :) I have had great luck with Acceleration unlike others and for me a lot of things have improved. I was very meticulous on installing Acceleration and it seems to have paid off. Now if I can get that new FSX Navion from Richie35 I will be really happy. :-ukliam Gary
