I am getting sick of FSX and addons

Featured Replies

Sorry guys not aimed at your product but Microcrap, I have had nothing but problems with FSX since I got it.Every addon I have installed so far, does not work without reconfiging something or another.Totally fed up with MS and their products.Anyway my latest problem, I purcahsed ActiveskyX, looks nice.It comes up on load up saying, SP1 is required, I have reinstalled SP1, removed it, replaced it, Removed SP1 Simcon files, repaired, replaced and yeah done it again, followed all the instructions to the T. I dont have SDK or anything. It dont work, still getting a start erorr, SP1 is missing, !!!, no map in the map window, I get a log but thats it. I also get a message in the loading main window22:04:52: Receive problem: Object variable or With block variable not set.(Error) Source = 22:04:53: Receive problem: Object variable or With block variable not set.(Error) Source = 22:04:53: Receive problem: Object variable or With block variable not set.(Error) Source = 22:04:53: Receive problem: Object variable or With block variable not set.(Error) Source = 22:04:54: Receive problem: Object variable or With block variable not set.(Error) Source = 22:04:54: Receive problem: Object variable or With block variable not set.(Error) Source = 22:04:54: Receive problem: Object variable or With block variable not set.(Error) Source = 22:04:54: Receive problem: Object variable or With block variable not set.(Error) Source = Can anyone advise pls??I have taken down the firewalls, etc, this is not on a network but a straight forward internet based PC.Thanks

Hi Paul,One more thing to try:Go to our Troubleshooting chapter and follow the manual uninstall/reinstall process for SimConnect. When doing the reinstall, have your anti-virus disabled. If using Vista, make sure you are using the Install As Administrator option in Vista.I hope you can get SP1 SimConnect properly installed.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/

many thanks for your reply, I am using xp. Been through the trouble shooting, I cant remove sp1, it says in add and remove programs, (sp1 is not removable) So I am assuming complete reinstall, which I really cant be bothered to do again, as I have reinstalled FSX so many times I now have to phone MS to get codes for reinstallation. So I manually removed simconnect, done the repair and reinstalled simconnect. FSUCPI is recognising simconnect fine, and resinstalled ok. Turned off Anti virus, firewalls everything I could think of.Anything else I can retry??Sorry for the rant but, FSX is very poor and seems to have lots of bugs. So frustrating.. I still cant set the joystick commands correctly, and when they do work, they have gone the following day.Would it be better if I had the deluxe version, I currently have FSX + Acceleration ??

Thanks

Yes FSUCPI is fine, not sure if FSMETEO needs it, or radar contact, but they all work pretty well.

Message on start upSimconnect SP1 managed version was not found to be correctly installed on this system. It is recommended to uninstall and reinstall the FSX SP1 update so this can be repaired. To uninstall, use add/remove programs and enable the 'Show updates' checkbox to make the SP1 update visible. Remove it then re-install. This will usually correct the situation. If you continue having problems please see the ASX Documentation SimConnect Troubleshooting section.

IT WORKSI found by keeping in the FSX disc and manually removing simconnect that FSX automatically puts back the simconnect files on its own. As I removed them the CD drive started its self and reinstalled the simconnect files. Weird hey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!But now another problemI have had major probs with ActiveskyX, which now works, I had to reinstall FSX etc etc, now when I try to reinstall FSUCPI I get thisChecking version of FSX.EXE:... Version 10.0.61637.0 (Need at least 10.0.60905.0)Checking compatibility with installed SimConnect:... Probe Manifest fails to match a valid base SimConnect needed to load FSUIPC4! Found later build SimConnect 61242 (SP1 May07) Found later build SimConnect 61259 (Acc/SP2 Oct07)The problem is if I change the simconnect file will my Activeskyx work???OMG I am so sick off doing this

Thanks

  • 2 years later...

I've just had this problem occur and i cannot solve it, i have been trying for just over 5 hours now.Yesterday i was able to fly a Harrier with the VTOL gauge working, hovering just fine. Today i started FSX up and i can no longer hover. Infact FSUIPC does not work any longer. I do not have it showing in my FSX bar either under addons. It's like it has just decided to mess itself it up with no reason.I shut down FSX like i usually do, shut the computer and this happens out of the blue.FSUIPC will not connect to "SimConnect" as it tells me SimConnect is not installed properly.I keep getting this error:Found SimConnect build 61259 (Acc/SP2 Oct07), but this is not correctly installed!... Probe Manifest fails to match a valid SimConnect needed to use FSUIPC4!I have gone through various forums to resolve this and every solution has failed. I have tried re-installing FSX SP2 without resolving the problem. I have tried numerous times to uninstall and reinstall SimConnect using the SDK SimConnect.msi installer as per the FSUIPC owner has suggested. With some solutions such as reinstalling SP2 it has resolved some peoples error but not mine.I'm at a complete loss now on what to do. I've tried other solutions on renaming certain folders in the winsxs folder and manifests and nothing is working. It's a complete downer when most addons require FSUIPC and its no longer able to connect to SimConnect.Other solutuons say reinstalled Windows. Yeah right, i'm not re-installing windows just so i can play FSX.I seriously have no idea how a computer can mess up something when shutting down. I've never had this problem before? One thing i did notice when looking through the winsxs folder after i found i had no SimConnect working was that none of the SimConnect folders were actually present. So it was like they were just "deleted" when i shut down last night and this morning, nothing there.Reinstalling SimConnect.msi via the SDK doesn't work at all.I have also tried three different versions of FSUIPC including the 4.60 version.I might just give up on FSX altogether and MS Flight Sim for that matter.
