April 20, 200818 yr Hello,When i climb above transition level and set my equipment to qnh 1013 my altitude in FS is different from the airplane. Fs is sticking to the altitude with the qnh from Active Sky. When i close AS, FS gives me the same altitude as my plane. Is there a solution to set AS to qnh 1013 above transition level? Thanks in advanceGreetingsOlaf de Vries
April 21, 200818 yr Hi,Are you using 18K as the transition altitude?Thanks!Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
April 21, 200818 yr >Are you using 18K as the transition altitude?Because I fly in europe, i use the Transition altitude depending on the airport i fly. I tried it at different Flightlevels, and the problem seems to appear not only at high levels but also below.GreetingsOlaf
April 21, 200818 yr At the moment i am flying from ksfo to kmia.I just past fl180 but above when i changed the qnh to 1013 i had a difference with my flightsim. Before i past the transition altitude, i had my plane at qnh 1020 just like as told me. At that time i had the exact same altitude. At the time i past fl180 to climb, i had a difference of 194 ft. The higher i get, the smaller gets the difference. For example, at fl260 the difference was 110ft. at FL300 the difference was 70ft. And after reaching my cruise fl330 the difference is 80ft. When i close as, fs will give the same altitude as the plane. When i then put as back on the altitude in fs gets back to a difference of 80 ft.GreetingsOlaf de Vries
April 21, 200818 yr Hi,In FS there is one transition altitude, 18K.The differences you are seeing while above 18K are normal. That is why when flying below 18K you must reset the altimeter. It is the same in real life.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
