Enroute data in activesky6

Featured Replies

Hi,In the Active Radar, it only shows the nearest local weather station's weather. How could i get the enroute weather forecast info at my flight level. Also, it can only import the FS2004 flight plan, how about if i input a plan in pmdg747's FMC how could it read it.Regards,Thomas

Hi Thomas,For flight level weather it is better to import and process a plan through AS. That will give you more information. Then you can import the plan into Active Radar if you wish. Yes, it does need to be a FS04 plan and not a FMC plan. So, bottom line is to use FS04 plans! Please let us know if you need more help with this.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/

Hi jim,But in fs04, it only accepts a departure/destination airport and it will auto generate the plan itself. The problem is the route in the FS04 plan might be different from what I entered in my pmdg fmc. Therefore it cannot forecast the weather for MY WAYPOINTS. Also, even i import the a fs04 plan in active radar, it does not show the flight level aloft wind data. Regards,Thomas

Hi Thomas,You are right, Active Radar will not show flight level data, but Active Sky will. You are also correct in that some FMC plans are different than FS04 plans. The limitation is that we need a FS04 plan or a plan that has been translated into a FS04 plan. What happens if you take one of your FMC plans and import it into Active Sky?Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/

Hi Jim,I have generated a plan using FSBuild and imported into ActiveSky successfully. Thanks.Few more questions:1) After I imported the plan and fly in FS2004, will it use the real weather right away or any other set up needed?2) What is the functionalities of ActtiveGraphics? Build a custom weather to fly in FS2004? 3) I have selected Category "Environment" and Selection "Showers" and submit to FS. Then I create a new flight in FS2004 with a random airport but can't see the showers.. why?Regards,Thomas

Hi,Very good!1. It will use real weather right away as long as online updates are checked On.2. AS Graphics are used to submit different environmental textures to FS such as clouds and sky textures. No weather is included. Weather still comes from AS.3. Because no weather data is a part of those themes. Those themes are textures that we think look good together and we needed to name them something. Again, the weather data will still come from AS.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
