July 7, 200817 yr I am trying to test AS6.5 as an engine for FSX..I keep getting errors whilt testing in FS9 that I've never had before.....Here is my set up so far......This is on an old XP machine, getting ready for the return of my Vista machine 64..AS6.5 was already installed as was FS9I installed FSX for test purposes a while ago....If I put the FSUPIC 4 into FS9 and load FS9 I geta message that there is a compatibatilty issue and if I select to load anyway,FS9 just goes away......So i removed that version and included the one that comes with AS6 into the Modules folder..Same thing happens, but if I choose not to load it i get errors but FS9 loads and AS6.5 works..But no in cockpit messages for updates except the first one....I have the version FSUPIC 4 still in the modules forler of FSXAgain to get AS6 to go I had to use a different version FSUPIC than the one in FSX ( it has 3.5 in FS9 )Here is my error...I have already reinstalled AS6.5 and the above still happens...Thanks for any advice you got for me.....
July 8, 200817 yr Hi,I did a Google search on that error and they all point to .NET. Do you have .NET1.1 istalled? Also FSUIPC4 is for FSX ONLY. For FS04 you MUST use FSUIPC 3.81. I think you know where to get that version so I don't need to give you the link.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
July 8, 200817 yr Thanks Jim...Yea..i got net 1.2 and the updated version of Net 2.0 (whatever it is)Now just launching AS6 I get this error immediately...What would you suggest I do..Uninstall my Framework and go again..It used to work fine, have not used FS9 for months, till now and this is happening..Thanks...Sorry if this is the same error as before..
July 8, 200817 yr Wierd...I have had Net 1.1 and 1.1 hotfix for over a year now along with Net 2.0 installed..just uninstalled 1.1 and hotfix and AS6 loaded no probs...Go figure...Thank you Jim...I'll go play and post tomorrow if its goofed.....
July 8, 200817 yr Well jim Doing that got it going...One question..i know you don't offer support for AS6 in FSx but..I got it going I think..I got the green bar and the updates going in FSx...I manually selected in FSx User defined weather...Was that correct,it did not change on its own like in FS9,or did I just not wait long enough.....Also nothing happens till I fly for a min, then the loading screen pops up loading ground vehicles, traffic, and such, then after that it appears that AS6 is working in FSX...Thank you...Mason
July 8, 200817 yr Hi,We'll answer stuff for ASv6.5 in FSX!Yes, User defined should automatically be chosen. You aren't giving AS and FSX enough time to process the data, it sounds like, especially if you change locations or are letting AS refresh AI Traffic.Thanks!Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
July 8, 200817 yr 10 - 4 thank you Jim.........I'll be sure to keep this in the FSX forum here on out.......I'll let load longer next time.....
