October 24, 200817 yr Hello,I finally have a system that can run FSX, and I'm already fed up with the default weather lol. I just have a few questions I'd like to know before I buy ASX.1) Can you use FSUIPC or any other method to limit cloud layer thickness / heights. I do this in FS9 to keep the framerates up and would like that ability in FSX as well.2) Can you create flightplans in ASX (even manually typing waypoints in) or do they have to be made in FSX first?3) In an networked setup does ASX have to be installed on both systems? Does a networked setup affect flightplan functionality? Is there any other restrictions when running ASX networked on a second computer?4) Are there any performance benefits to ASX over default weather?5) Does ASX fill in all the holes between weather stations such as in the Far North of Canada?6) Does ASX have the dynamic weather system that other Activesky's had like AS2004.5 where you can watch a cold front move through?7) While running does ASX have any performance impact if run on the same PC as flight simulator? Thanks :)
October 25, 200817 yr Hi,Thanks for your interest!!1. If FSUIPC has these options you can use them. We don't require FSUIPC anymore so I can't say for sure.2. No, just in FSX first. ASX has no planner.3. No, just the client. No. No, just the proper sharing set up.4. More complex weather takes more power.5. We use the FSX database and add virtual stations for smooth weather transitions.6. Yes.7. Some users do, many do not.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
October 25, 200817 yr Thanks Jim,Just an extension to question 2 - can you enter departure and destination airports to get basic flight information without having to load an FSX flight plan?
October 25, 200817 yr Hi David,That aspect you sure can do!Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
