December 26, 200223 yr Hi all and Merry Christmas!!I hope you and your families are enjoying the holidays! One question...is there a way to control airport/runway lightsusing a radio frequency ?is it possible to design an airport with this features in Fs2002?thank you all!cheers,-E
December 26, 200223 yr I wish.It would be like this.An young teenage pilot sarcastically called the control without using the proper lingo.Pilot: "Guess who?"The tower switches off the runway lights and replys.....Tower:"Guess where!"
December 28, 200223 yr Hi E. It is my understanding that Chris Wilkes designed pilot controlled runway lighting into the first segment of the Caribbean Islands although I haven't tried flying at night in that area. Several years ago, a scenery designer of the first big add-on scenery for Alaska also as part of his scenery enabled the pilot to turn on and off runway lighting by tuning the ground frequency for that particular airport. I understand that most airports in Alaska don't keep the lights on at night. I can't remember the scenery designers name but the scenery I believe was for FS95 and also for FS98. The concept is a nice one and I wish more scenery designers would use it.Bill :-roll
