Two BT sound questions

Featured Replies

In cockpit mode, when I reduce power or RPM'S from max I don't get any change in engine sound until about 2000 rpm. Is this normal? I do get the changes in other aircraft, as R4D 6 and PHDDZ.Also no tire squeal upon touchdown. The tire noise is there in the other two. I followed the instructions for the SOUNDS folder carefully and twice. I do get the touchdown bump noise and also the rolling noise on the runway. I can live without either, but "As real as it gets". A simple yes or no would be sufficient., Ed

Hi Edd,I have just done a quick hop in BT from CGX to ORD and can definately say that I got a tyre squeak from inside the aircraft (2d panel) on landing and that I got changes in engine noise at all ranges on the MP gauge.I'm not sure what the exact wav files for the landing sounds are - Bill or someone else from the team will have to answer that (unless I can find them first! ;-)), but they are definately there.Ian P.:-halo

Greetings Edd!1. Open your FS2002 directory.2. Find the folder "Sounds" (notice the "s" on the end - that's the culprit).3. Highlight and copy all the files you find there.4. Open the FS2002 "Sound" folder and paste all the copied files there.5. Delete the empty Sounds folder. This will do the trick with regard to the tire screeching. With thanks to Bill Rambow, who defined the problem and provided the solution.(Edited in order to add: Oops, I just noticed that you already did this - twice. Which means I'm out of ideas now...)Jaap Verduijn.

Thank you both for your response.-------ed

>A simple yes or no would be sufficient., Ed Then a simple reply my friend. I have watched many landings from the cockpit and external views and not once have I heard a screetch from the tyres.Touchdown wavs are included in the sound file.I may add screetch wavs to the BT sound upgrade if the Mamm-Sim team ask for it.Best WishesMike Hamblyhttp://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/maamsim_logo.gif

Thank you Mr. Hambly, for you response. My second post, "a simple yes or no", was in reference to my original post asking "is this normal"?Sorry I troubled you.-------------EdW
