Twin panel for R4D

Featured Replies

I just bought FS2004 and it looks pretty good. Sounds for the DC3 are terrific so you have your work cut out boys to do better. After five long years of flying the R4D I am going to start my own cockpit. My last purchase from you was the B-25 which I just love but guaranteed I will love your Sept release even better (I hope ??). I have started collecting all the items needed for my pit. Original pilot and co-pilot seats for a C-47 I have had for many years which I have lovingly restored and have used as office chairs latterly, the pilots overhead (semi-circular) c/w all switches and four pedals. Yokes I have (albeit from a DC6) but the columns are going to be pain as are the pedals if I link them together after all, my old CH stuff just wont look right will it? The pedestal will be MDF covered with thin ally sheet and topped off with my old faithful PFC item hacked about to look more original unless somebody has an original one for sale? The enclosure will be interior only and I am lucky enough to have access to a DC 3 for all measurements to make it as real as I want it.I am still looking for a F/O overhead (start) panel and a Magneto panel but they are probably the easiest to make anyway. I will have an overhead projector as of next week for the outside visuals but I plan to use the B-25 (will the R4D have this feature too Bill?) panels on two 17" monitors with a plywood surround (seen elsewhere for a C-172 in this forum). I have two pc's at present. Pentium 4 2.6 with 4200 Ti to power up the overhead to be seen through the front wind shields and an AMD 1200 with 4200 Ti for the side windows (????) using two 15" monitors. Can anybody tell me what is the lowest spec PC I could use to fire up the two panels efficiently? Also may I ask why I can't see any of the photos in the forum ?
