July 6, 200421 yr When I use the autopilot the elevator flutters when viewed with the external view. Inside the A/C there is a constant porpoising untilthe autopilot is shut down. Is there a fix for this or am I doing something wrong?Red
July 6, 200421 yr Adjust the elevator sensitivity on the Sperry, then make sure the aircraft is properly in trim before you start the a/p.Hope this helps.Allcott
July 6, 200421 yr Or don't use the autopilot!CheersTimhttp://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/maamsim_logo.gif
July 6, 200421 yr I justify it because my co-pilot is a lazy so-and-so and never seems to do what I tell him x(And every time I look over there he's not in his seat, where he should be.:(I've got backache from reaching across to the cowl controls. And the PIC operating the gear lever? Whatever were they thinking?}(Allcott
July 8, 200421 yr Thanks for the tip, when trimed properly it works fine.I don't fly with the autopilot all the time but it's nice to know things work.Red
July 14, 200421 yr I'm currently beta testing another aircraft, and the fluttering appears when the yaw dampers engaged. If you look at the default aircraft, occasionally they exhibit the same fluttering of rudder or elevator. It appears to be a built-in extra that came with FS9.
