February 18, 200620 yr Hi Guys, I like to fly using TrackIR and virtual cockpit and I was wondering is there a way to remove the yoke from the pilots side but retain the yoke on the co-pilots side? I know I can install the light version of the cockpit But I would like to have the co-pilots yoke visible. So is there a way this can be done?
February 21, 200620 yr Whoa, patience, please, sire!It could be done, with a rebuild of the model, of course. But there is no easy way to remove it otherwise, to my knowledge. You are the first to ask for this - and it is not a bad idea - but Jan is so busy trying to get our other priorities finished right now that I fear it might take some time to get him to consider such! The trouble is, if you do it one one side, what happens to the other? Many people move about in VC mode, and like to fly from both sides too. Note that the C-47 in military mode was usually only flown by one pilot anyway, so that was necessary. He would start the right engine from the right seat, from where he could see it, and then return to the left seat for most flying. Usually he'd get the R/O or Navigator to help him with gear, flaps and cowl flap changes during flight, but only if they could be trusted! It's all to easy to drop the Dak on her belly while taxiing if you hit the gear lever at the wrong time!MarkMark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a] _________________________ Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont VP Fleet, DC-3 Airways Team Member, MAAM-SIM
February 21, 200620 yr Sorry For My impatience Mark and thanks for your reply. Hmm. I kind of thought it would be easier said than done but I hope you will consider it for a future update. For those of us who fly with a yoke it would make sense to have this option. not to mention make it a bit easier to see some of the gauges.
