FSX in Gamespy - Connectivity issues

Hello all - I have been searching for solutions (hopefully easy ones for a non-tech head like me) to hosting speed issues in FSX multiplay (thru Gamespy). I like to host sessions however I am always showing red lights in the connect. speed display, hence I don't get much traffic. I have a 3 mth old PC (specs below) with a 1500 kbps ADSL connection thru a D-link (DSL-502T) router. I've seen posts on firewall configs, ports to enable etc. I have tried to follow some of these suggestions without success (or maybe I'm doing it wrong). Its all very confusing/frustrating.
