9600XT

Featured Replies

Hello everyone!i have a question regarding the ATI Radeon 9600XT for those who have the card, does it get good fps compared to the 9800pro? I currently have the 9200 My specs are:P4 3.00ghz512 PC3200 RAMWindows XPATI Radeon 9200

I reluctantly bought one of these ATI 9600XT cards after I could not get an NV card that fit my budget in terms of performance vs. price at my local Best-Buy Store. Frankly speaking I have been more than impressed by it. I get good FPS and great visual "picture" with this card, it is rock stable, except when I try to run with fastwrites option enabled, and it more than holds it's own in FS9 environment. In FS9 I find it the perfect blend of form and function . Since most of FS9 power is driven by RAM and CPU power, the 9600XT serves mainly to give me good visuals clarity (eyecandy). I run at 6xAA and 4xAF at 1152x864 32BPP and average 15 to 25FPS with most sliders in the Mid to Max range (AMD1.44 Ghz CPU Windows XP HE), depending on the complexity of the aircraft and panel.I occaisionally will get the odd problem with textures not loading immediately, but I think that is more a result of running at 6XAA than the card meeting the demands FS9 sends it's way.If you have the CPU and RAM upgardes and your looking for a great card on a limited budget this is the perfect video card.

Thanks for responding! i did get the 9600xt and it kicks arse!! i agree about the eye candy..its picture quality is excellent

I had a NV5600XT and gained with the Sapphire 9600 XT an almost 50% increase in frame rates but earned some unexpected stutters which are very disturbing. Screwing the frame rate down to 25 Fps I get in curves too much strobing. I came back to the looked 50 Fps with almost everything at 75% and have to live with some stutters.
