April 6, 200422 yr Hello,I've recently bought a Sapphire ati 9800 pro 128mband like the autogen buildings look fuzzy it's not AA issue but the building itself doesnt look right it has these lines that flickers.Anyone stumbled upon such bizare issue ?Regards, ben.
April 6, 200422 yr Ben,If you are talking about the fuzzy/shimmering type lines on most buildings and even the runway signs, yes we have all seen them and have written hundreds of posts to these forums. I personally think it is a product of "Poor" programming (Microsoft) plus the lack of computer power (cpu speed)Setting your video card to the higher AA and AS settings does not seem to help much. I have found if I set my resolution inside FS2004 to 1600 X 1200, that helps but then you take the hit for choppy and non-fluid motion. I usually run at 1280 X 960 which is a compromize setting.Terry
April 6, 200422 yr Go to your flightsim settings/display/hardware tab and set the ingame mipmap slider on 4. That's where the rest of us have to run it. You should find everything nice and quiet after you make that change.
April 6, 200422 yr "the lack of computer power (cpu speed)"I got an AMD 2800+Is that considered a slow cpu speed
April 7, 200422 yr Anything under 5GHz is considered slow. At least when you select all of the available options to display. That and the system has to draw all of those detailed images. I still believe that if MS had a better code which the program is written to, we would have smoother and more detailed video.Terry
April 17, 200422 yr Same card same problem but if u set ingame mipmap settings to 4 u have almost no problems.Any mipmap setting above 4 give u this flashy buildings and trees. This is your problem i think.
