I got a new puter and all in all it is light yrs ahead of my old Dell Dimension 667MHZ machine. However after reinstalling my flight sim files I have run into some nasty problems that my poor, limited cranial capacity is unable to figure out. Check that all the fonts are installed. The list of required fonts is in the fonts folder under the main FS directory. Compare to the fonts directory under Win XP control panel and install any that are missing. They should have been installed when FS was, but sometimes fonts get missed.Next, check that the card drivers are up to date. Unless specifically advised not to, always use the generic NVidia drivers as these are most up to date. FS requires 44.67 drivers or later, according to MS. And you could try the 53.03's as a starting point. However, with that system, your card is a very weak point and you should look to update it as soon as possible, to improve the `balance` with the rets of the computer. FX5700 or above, I'd say.Finally, are you still using the same monitor? If you've gone from a CRT to a LCD displasy the resolutions are often different - 1280x960 is the standard 1.33:1 ratio for CRT's, but LCD usually require 1280x1024 as a default res.
