Who stole my alpha shine!?

Featured Replies

Hey guys,I'm having a problem I really never noticed until I installed an aircraft I KNOW is supposed to be ultra shiny. I have an NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 420 video card and I've seen the ultra shine displayed before on this card, so I know it's capable, I just don't know why it's not being displayed now as opposed to when it was later. Is there some sort of activation switch for this feature, some slider I don't know about, etc? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated as always. Thanks in advance,Zach Herin

I'm almost certain the card is NOT capable of the shine effects by default, but there may have been a workround. have you tried searching the forum?Allcott

Yes, but in all cases everyone's alpha shine works, they either want to know how to create it or delete it. I'm no dummy to FS2002 settings, so I am stumped to what's going on. The textures are all there, just no alpha shine. Even on the default models, like the belly of the 737, there is no reflection/shine/whatever. It toally sucks, my planes look like crap! Any ideas guys? All my drivers are updated, everything is normal. I am so frustrated...no idea what to do.Zach Herin

I suggest you search in the forum under `mx 4`. You will find what you are after. And there's no need to waste everybodys time and this sites bandwidth double posting in the main forum. You already had this thread running and replies to it. Jeez!Allcott

WHOA HO, get all mad! Bandwith for one little message, pshwah...NOT a big deal.

Nice to see your respect for those who have to go to the time and trouble to reply to your duplicate posts, and your regard for those whos bandwidth you waste.Anyway, trust you got what you were looking for. No don't thank us, we only exist to satisfy your demands at our own time - and cost. Allcott
