NVIDIA 61.1x + Notepad trouble

Featured Replies

Hi,I just tried the new 61.12 Forceware drivers from guru3d and aside from 10% fps enhancement, I found that of all the things in the world my notepad.exe didn't work anymore (100% CPU and it didn't show *.txt files correctly). After some trial and error, I found that the "nView Desktop Manager" was to blame. So better keep it disabled; this is also true for the 61.11 drivers.RegardsOliver

Odd, no weird problem like that, very good improvment in quality and FPS with them for sure.

Hi Kurt, great to hear that you can run the 61.12 without the notepad trouble. Maybe it's related to the GeforceFX, as I see, you're using a GF4 Ti4200. I found some references to this bug (and others that weren't all too interesting to me, like issues with Far Cry etc.) via google in some forums, so it seems, I'm not the only one affected.I sure hope Nvidia will come out with a official driver soon, because I just can't go back (performance is just too good), but I really miss some features from the Desktop Manager (like window repositioning).RegardsOliver
