ATC sound pauses FS2004

Featured Replies

I have a Sound Blaster Audigy sound card and every time the ATC speaks there is a .5 second pause. I have 1 GB RAM. Would upgrading to an Audigy 2 get rid of the pausing?

From my experience, no... nothing I've tried has completely stopped pauses, though they are reduced a bit since upgrading to the Audigy 2 from SOundblaster live.Best,Joel

Try KX Project Drivers. We've talked about them before in this forum, so you ought to find information on them here.Allcott

Allcott, thanks for the tip. I got them after you mentioned them 'last time' and I wouln't want to do without anymore... Not the boatload of drivers! ATC will probably remain a little twitchy by default, but boy do I l

The KX Drivers are an excellent piece of work.Last summer I got the infamous Audigy EEPROM problem where the device id gets overwritten on the card and subsequently the CT drivers respond with 'card can not be found'. The id is still corrupted on my card but the the KX drivers gave me the flexibility to work around it and get the Audigy 1 working again. I've used them ever since and have given up on CT.In addition, I now know more than I did a year ago about sound cards and drivers although not approaching anywhere near as much as the people on the KX forum.I don't know if CT ever got the EEPROM issue taken care of or not and I don't care and my guess is that the CT drivers must be up to about 80Mb by now. LOL.I don't have any sound problems such as pauses. However, when there is really heavy weather there is an occasional 'click' when I bring up the radio stack or other sub windows but nothing major.
