Logitech Freedom 2.4 Joystick / FS2002

Featured Replies

Hi All,I have just installed this new Logitech Freedom 2.4 Joystick joystick with FS2002 and found out that If I don't use the joystick within one minute it goes into a sleep mode while in FS2002.Then I have to hit the hat switch to get out of it, also make the speed of the aircraft pickup until I hit the hat switch to get it out of sleep mode in FS2002.Is there any setting for this joystick in FS2002 or on Windows 2000 Pro or the joystick software ?Many thanks for any help you can give me !Scott

Hi ScottLook around the http://www.wingmanteam.com site for the 4.30 Driver Update for Logitech. I am fairly sure that this update includes a utility to change the timeout for that stick. You could also search the forums here because I found that link here a while ago after posting a similar question. Its a great joystick and that timeout is the only real drawback to it that I have found.

I downloaded the Logitech Gaming software version 4.40 that has the updates drivers but I still can't find the utilities that set the timeout for the joystick.Do you know where it is located ?Thanks Scott

hiI also experienced the same problem in FS2004. I didnt find it that annoying but I wish that the timeout could be changed to for example an hour. The timeout is really pain in the butt for my Battlefield Vietnam game because the game doesn't recognice the joystic again after it has timeouted :(The joystic is really good otherwise. If anyone finds a link about the timeout calibration please post it.Jani

The utility that I found buried inside the 4.30 driver updates was called caffeine.exe. This little utility just allows you to set the timeout to pretty much anything you want. Of course, the price you pay is battery consumption. You can find the utility (as a seperate download) it at the following location: http://www.wingmanteam.com/latest_software/gadgets.htm.There is a forum at that site also where you can get some user help for it.
