Gang...I've just acquired a 128MB Sapphire 9600XT (finally upgraded from a 64MB Geforce4 MX440) and wondered what the best settings for it would be to achieve similar screenies to those I see posted here all the time.My rig is only a 1.7G celery with 512MB's RAM.Any help is greatly appreciated.Thanx in advance...

Hello Bill,Have you taken a look at the FS2004 and WinXP Optimization Guide V2 pinned at the very top of this section of the forum? I made it for just for the purpose of trying to answer the question you are asking here. On one of the pages is a link to download the guide. I'll give you the link here as well...http://home.comcast.net/~linuxrh/FS2004_an...on_Guide_V2.zipAnd here's another guide I made...Guide To a Great Looking FS2004http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...77&topic_id=461Good luck to you Bill. I hope it helps!Cheers,Jim

Thanx Jim... apologies for not having checked the pinned topics first before asking.Cheers...

Hi Bill,No problem. ;) I know it is pretty long and somewhat complex. And when going through the guide it is possible you may come to points of frustration. Whatever the case I just hope it helps. But I am perhaps a little concerned about your expectations. With your system specs I am a little worried about you aspiring to achieve results like many of the screenshots you have seen. With those kind of system specs I think you may find that you need to run at a somewhat low resolution, run with lower AA, and lower slider settings. But please, don't let me dissuade you! You may very well find that you are able to achieve very nice results. I know I'm amazed at some of the screenshots that JohnCi has posted and he has some pretty low system specs. I'm just trying to make sure you aren't setting youself up for a big dissapointment is all. Because IMHO, FS2004 is quite system/resource intensive. I would like to recommend that you get yourself another 512 MB's af RAM if you possibly can. I think that would almost certainly gain to have a smoother experience in FS2004 if you had 1 GB of RAM, with whatever settings you end up using. And that recommendation is made with the assumption that you are running Windows XP.Regards,Jim
