ati radeon 9800 all in wonder pro-fs9 crashes-help

Featured Replies

Hi I just got the ati radeon 9800 all in wonder pro. When I load fs9, after a few seconds, it locks up my computer and I have to re-boot. When I re-install my old card that came with the computer, fs9 works fine. I recently installed service pack 2 for XP. I'm running AMD Athlon 3000+. Anyone else experience these problems with this card? I also installed the most recent drivers from ATI, but that didn't help. Thanks.

You also may want to install the most recent drivers for your motherboard/chipset. That worked for me, with ATI 9600 pro.

Well, you don't mention any other hardware apart from your CPU, but nevertheless there's a 50/50 chance you're on a Via chipset. Case so, you will want to use the AGP driver integrated into WinXP-SP2. With other words, don't use the AGP bit of the Via 4in1 drivers with WinXP-SP2. More information on resolving AGP/SP2 driver issues is available at viaarena.com. Good luck and kind regards Jaap

Have you got Microsoft .NET Framework v1.1 installed, plus the update that was issued September 2004? I've got the All In Wonder version of your Card; Installing those Updates sorted my similar problems.See my Post further down on this Forum.Ken,Somerset, England
