January 27, 200521 yr Hallo everyone!I am having a major problem in my new computer's FS9 grahpics...!I bought the new tower for about 1000 Euros about 2 months ago and I am still not using it to fly!I feel that my money went for nothing and that's the worst...I've done a lot of search in the AVSIM forum and I found an older post describing the same symptoms as minesbut unfortunately the advice given by other fellow flightsimmers couldn't help for me(this person had an FX5900 VGA card)! Here is my system configuration:Processor:Intel P4 3.0GHz FSB800, 1MB CacheMotherboard:Gigabyte GA-8IPE775-G Hyper threadingRAM: 2x 512MB Kingston DDR (1024MB)VGA card:Leadtek WinFast nVIDIA GeForce 6800 128MBHard Disc: Western Digital 80MB SATASound Card: Creative Sound Blaster 5.1 Bulk400W PSUAnd here is the problem:1)From the first time I run FS9(Leadtek drivers from the CD the card came with) with the deafault display settings there is an extremely intense flickering in the sky mostly, on the horizonand on the ground some times.2)I install latest drivers (66.93) for that time (2 months ago) and DirectX 9c and the problems remains as before.3)I was told that it could be a BIOS problem so I start searching the BIOS. I only noticed that with a function called MIB (Memory internal Boost) enabled, the problem almost doubled... so I reset the BIOS settings to normal.4)I start changing the VGA card settings from windows(AF, AA, MIP... ,etc) but without any visible results. (I actually followed the advice given in the forum post that I found, and did some experiments as well.)5)So I go into the FS9 Display settings: Render to texture off -> No result6)Anti Alliashing off -> No result7) T&L off -> problem improves a lot but not totaly. (Still some flickering on the horizon and ground)8)After all this disappointment I uninstall all drivers and run the Flight simulator in software mode.(3-D hardware accelaration disabled & Software 3-D mode enabled) -> The problem is !!completely!! solved... There is no sign of flickering at all.Without being a computer expert or something, I can understand that this is a hardware (VGA card) problem and not a software one. What do you think?I am desperate... I am seriously thinking of selling my current graphics card and buying a new one(if this could help.)!At the moment I have installed some other manufacturer drivers that I downloaded and I have also tried several nVIDIA drivers(45.23,53.03, 52.16 and 61.77) but the problem is still there. I only have the T&L set off whichimproves things a little bit but it's still annoying and takes all the pleasure!Other games like Prince of percia and Splinter cell run normally...What is going on????I am tired of buying hardware all the time and flight Simulator having problems with it!!!!I would be greatfull if you could help meThank you in advance p.s: I attached a report of my system by CPU-Z if it could help.very interesting program for identifying processor, memory and so on.It can be found here: http://www.cpuid.comZografistos DimitrisIraklion CreteGreecehttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/105039.html
