I have often heard it is best to have windows installed twice....

Featured Replies

Hello all,I have often heard it is best to have windows installed twice on the same machine and to only install FS9 in one of the windows xp drives. I have managed to install two copies of Windows but what I would like to know is do I strip the windows where I am going to place FS9 bare of all background programs before or after I install FS9. I have heard that Blackviper's web page is a good place to find out what to strip out of windows. Just one last issue i would like to ask , is it safe to connect to the internet using Sqauwkbox etc without having anything other than FS9 in the windows xp drive where FS 9 will be put?I have a pentium 4 with a FX880T ATI card 880GB HD and 6 drives Thanks for any feedbackPaul

You can use FSAutoStart ;-)Also, on the XP for FS9, you need to run a firewall at least if you are connecting to the internet. Either the XP SP2 firewall, a third part like ZoneAlarm, or a firewall in a router. Otherwise you will probably get infected in about 10-15 minutes without having to do anything.I also highly recommend installing SP2. Others may disagree, but on the many machines I have installed it on I have yet to see a problem (this includes Dell laptops - I'm writing this post on one)
