Dell has sent me a replacment PC for the machine I bought about 2 months ago, that has had constant problems. The orginal PC had a Nvidia GT 6800 256 Meg video card. The replacement PC has a ATI-Radeon X850 XT. My question is, are these card comparable or is this new ATI not as good as the Nvidia GT 6800?

They are both top cards, and are very similar in performances. IMO, ATI is better. I myself have the same card like you, and I can only say it's the best investment ever.
