Raptor SATA cable

Featured Replies

I bought my Raptor 74GB on Ebay, for a nicer price. It came with no cables however, but my Mobo came with the standard sata cables. I just checked WDs site, and they say that you need their "special" legacy cable dealy. Is this true?!Thanks

The cables that came with your motherboard will work fine. Plug one in and then plug one of the standard 4 pin Molex from the PSU in and you're good to go.Greg

Okay *whew* if I had to get ANOTHER cable id be really ######.(My Vid card didnt come with the 4 pin - 6pin adaptor so I had to buy one on newegg...its cheap but needs to be shipped from CA.)Btw what is molex? I looked up installing a floppy and they called the 4 pin power adaptor molex.tyty!

"Btw what is molex?"It's the biggest of the 4 pin conectors on PSU cables that you'll plug in for power. One of the many connectors that look alike (some are male while others are female) hanging from all the wire bundles of your PSU. You'll have far more of them than any other connector on the PSU. They're a inline 4 pin-in-a-row arrangement.Greg

Thanks for the info! Cleared it all up
