June 12, 200520 yr Hello everyone,I have just purchased a AMD64 3000+ and ASUS K8V-X motherboard, i have 1.25GB of RAM and a GeForce Ti4200 64MB, in the next mounth or so i am going to buy a GeForce 6800LE 128MB, and 550W Silent Power Supply unit (my current is 220W at the mo). I am also running WinXP Pro 32bit, and i want to upgrade to WinXP Pro 64bit. What does it consist of, do i have to reformat my hardrive to be able to install it? and do i have to get 64bit drivers for all my other hardware (motherboard, graphics card etc...)? Because i have heard the results with WinXP Pro 64 and FS9 are good ; )Cheers,Nathanial
June 12, 200520 yr No you don't have to reformat. You can even dual boot with XP 32 bit. You will need to get the drivers though, especially NIC drivers and SCSI/SATA drivers first.Edit: it comes with NIC drivers. I meant if you have WiFi NIC.
June 12, 200520 yr hi,Thanx for the reply, but what are NIC drivers and SCSI/SATA drivers? And do you know any people who have done this and if so do you know if the results have been worth it?Cheers,Nathanial
