June 19, 200520 yr Hi There, First post. Relatively new to simmming also, so please bear with my n00bness. I've just purchased a Saitek X45 after realising that flying with keys is quite difficult!I have a slight problem. When I bank the wings and then return the joystick the center to roll out of the bank, the wings remain banked and I have to move the joystick to the opposite direction to get the plane back to level flight. It's a similar story when pitching the nose up or down (but not quite as severe). Now, correct me if I'm wrong (which I probably am) but if I have the joystick at the center position, isn't the plane supposed to fly according to how the rudder/pitch trims are set? Many thanks for your help. Cheers.. Ben
June 21, 200520 yr OK. I'll correct you because you're wrong!Centreing the controls does nothing more than cease the input that creates the movement. An aircraft in trim SHOULD remain at the position it was left in, if the controller is centred. An EQUAL and OPPOSITE input is required to move the aircraft back or to another attitude, including wings level. That said, many aircraft in the real world display charactersitics that don't quite match that simple model. It's what makes flying fun!Welcome to FS!Allcott
