July 15, 200520 yr I am not obsessed with trying to get the highest possible scores using benchmark utilities, I was just curious as to how my system ran. Well after doing a few tests, I am a little concerned about some of the results. Now the first screenshot shows a guy who has a score of about 4300, and mine was 4118, I am only interested in the part beside the red line. Now keep in mind my system in both shots is the light gray one and the comparing system is dark grey. As you can see they performed similar in most of the areas except the last, mine is drastically lower, about 500FPS lower.http://members.shaw.ca/stangrecki/lowscore1.jpgNow this next shot is someone who got a score of about 4000, mine being 4118. My system is faster then his in all areas except once again the last one and this time the difference is about 600FPShttp://members.shaw.ca/stangrecki/lowscore2.jpgDoes anyone here know whats going on? I mean this is very large difference compared to people who have the same Video Card and CPU as I do. Now I have the ran the test more then once, I have ran it about 5 times, with everything disabled, rebooting then running it and I consitently get the same result, having the last score much lower then others. Can anyone help me out here? I using the 77.72 drivers. I tried using the 71.89 and got similar results. Could this be hardware related? The Video card is only about 3 months old. I know my PSU is up to the task, Antec Neopower 480W. The rest of my specs are in my sig. I am open to any ideas.
July 16, 200520 yr Your scores make me really feel badly!I have had problems with my system since new (3 weeks) and I know something is drastically wrong but the dealer can't find anything wrong and won't do anything about it.AMD 64 4000+, 1GBRAM, 68000Ultra, etc., and my score is 3119.Mark 2004 wouldn't recognize my RAID striping drives, nor would it give a score for memory. No wonder my FS9 runs so slowly. I need a guru!donmac
July 16, 200520 yr Your system should insanely fast! One thing that I found with mine that made a big difference with my scores, I turned Verticle Sync off, AA off, AF off. For some reason though Verticle Sync had a big impact but even still it affected my last score. Maybe there is someone here who can help both of us out!
July 16, 200520 yr I just ran the test to see what my system was like in comparison. I got 4400 points with my system.I compared mine to other peoples systems online, and mine seems to be about average for my hardware. I'd say that 3110 is way too low, but as to what could be causing it? It could be a million things: Card drivers? Mainboard drivers? BIOS settings? The list is endless. The only really sure way of getting behind it is to start with a fresh install and go from there. Sorry I couldn't suggest anything more helpfull.RegardsGrahame (EDHL)Asus A8V DeluxeAMD 64 3500 Venice clocked @ 2354Hz9800 Pr0 standard clock speeds1GB Infinion PC3200 RAMAudigy2 ZS soundcardetc..
