July 28, 200520 yr Hi all,Sorry if this has been posted already, I did a search and was unable to find what I was looking for. Anyway, I'm putting together a new rig with an Athlon 64 processor and was curious if it was worth it to buy XP 64 as opposed to regular XP. I have read that several drivers are incompatible and with a relatively low number of current 64-bit games doesn't seem to make much sense. The gaming extent of my new computer will be limited to mostly FS and other slightly less "taxing" games. Any advice/suggestions you all can provide would be greatly appreciated...thanks a lotPatrick Brand
July 28, 200520 yr I would do some research into the parts you want to get and see if there are 64BIT drivers available for them. For example, my system, there are final releases of 64BIT drivers for everything except my joystick. I right now have a dual boot setup but lately I have not worried to much about 32BIT windows and mostly stick with 64BIT. While there is a very low number of 64BIT games, most and I stress most, 32BIT games and applications do work just fine. Where you could run into problems if try to use apps that are a few years old, but most recent programs and games within the last 2-3 years for me work just fine.
