September 20, 200520 yr Folks,I need to make a somewhat expensive decision and to help me make it I thought I would solicit opinion from curent PFC Cirrus yoke users. I currently have a CH yoke that I have given up on in frustration. Sticking and binding along the elevator axis makes precise one handed operation impossible and no amount of lubing can fix that or the slop between shaft and bushing.I need something better. I understand the Cirrus yoke is all metal construction, but is it smooth and precise? I can't afford to drop $500 on a "heavy box" version of the CH with a throttle shaft on the front, powder-coated or not. Also, can any Cirrus user please explain what is meant by the "electric pitch trim" blurb I see in some descriptions of the yoke.Is this simply a programmable joystick-like button like any other, or does the yoke actually contain an electric motor operated by this switch that relieves control pressure on the yoke such that the yoke will maintain an uncentered position if I let go. I'm sorry if that sounds like a silly question, or that maybe I am asking or assuming too much but I have seen a picture of another yoke system that does contain a motor for that purpose. Granted, the yoke was integrated into a larger control system that was hugely expensive but I would like a Cirrus user to verify that for me.Also, one review did point out that the yoke when turned full right will collide with the throttle when full out or idle. Have any Cirrus users found that to be limiting?Apart form the specific question about the electric pitch trim, I guess what I am asking is if there really is $500 worth of value in this for a dedicated flight simmer? It's the Mooney yoke, specifically, that I am interested in. Thanks in advanceJohnBytePilot :-zhelp
