September 15, 200520 yr Hi,I have both pedals & yoke from CH Products and was wondering if anyone has a definitive setting for the Senstivities and Null zones for them.I assume that different aircraft use them in different ways, (eg if you pull back yoke in a cessna it will be more responsive than in 747),I am talking about say taxiing where I have to press the pedal most of the way when the airplane will then suddenly turn.If anyone could explain I would appreciate it, I also have a registered copy of FSUIPC If I should make any changes in that.Cheersterry PCCHIPS M848 - AMD XP 2400 _ 1Gb PC2700 RAM - 9600 Pro 128 mb - SB audigy 2 - CH pedals - saitek Joystick - Mk 2a Thingummy Whizzer - Fs9+sp1 - XP pro + SP2 and a comfy chair
September 15, 200520 yr I've found the best way is: First of all set all the axis up in the sensitivities section in FS, set to full sensitivity and a small null zone (just a tick right from full left), then use FSUIPC to calibrate them.Due to the small null area in FS, when they're at rest (hands and feet off), you should see no flickering of the null centre setting in FSUIPC. They should all be on zero. If they flicker, increase the null setting in FS a tiny amount, and re-calibrate.The settings should be good for all aircraft. Hope this helps.RegardsGrahame (EDHL)The artist formerly known as DemolitionmanEFC_475"I'm suffering from amnesia and dejavu at the same time: I think I forgot that before""Air Force 53, it appears your engine has... oh... disregard, I see you've already ejected."
September 20, 200520 yr Hi Sorry about the delay, I have tried that but, do seem to have problems with the Rudder. It does not seem to act the same each time I use it, sometimes it will smoothly deflect proportionally to pedal travel other times, press pedal nothing then wham full rudder and I am off the taxiway, (embarrassing on take off roll in EM145 to be going cross country)Could this be something to do with Rudder Spike also in FSUIPC?I ahve cleaned the pedals, recalibrated them and everything seems OK, just that the rudder won't always "obey" them.Any ideas I would be grateful.Terry
September 20, 200520 yr I always press keypad `5` before moving the controls in a sim session, and FSUIPC recomends moving ech of the controller axes to full extension to allow the calibration to `take`. This sorts out any strange rudder reponses for me, which aren't `spikes` as such, just unfamailiar responses to standard inputs.Hope this helpsAllcott
September 20, 200520 yr Have you tried using the CH Control Manager program? see here: http://www.chproducts.com/retail/tech_control_manager.htmlIt is a pretty powerful joystick manager. You can program it in a number of ways. I don't use the programing feature as I find it complicated, however I do use CH Control manager in direct mode. I find it gives a far more natural feel and response to your FS controls.
