September 22, 200520 yr Hello FolksCan you confirm that the PC's fligh yoke and pedals (such as the CH products) do not have any forcefeedback mechanism but a simple "spring" return, pretty much like a standard joystick????Can also you confirm that, in terms of similarity with reality the FF system is totally unrealistic?? To me it looks like more of an arcade game device rather than a simulation game device.Once in a while i fly in a real GA plane and I never experienced such hard vibration and jerking on the yoke!!!Maybe you can experience a buffet vibration and nothing more....in case of turbulence the entire plane shakes not only the yoke or stick!!!!The only thing I think the FF simulates well is the stick shaker...I wish they made Joystick with the only FF simulation of this system...i realize I'm askign for too much!!! :-)I have a ThrustMaster Top Gun Afterburner FF joystick and it really annoys me...sometimes it behaves in an erratic way, I cannot stand the lack of smoothness (it goes on small "jerks") in the stick excursion, (I deactivated the FF system). On top of that sporadically it triggers the left rudder even if i barely touch the stick, making taxing around the airport and approach very painful. I resumed the use of an old but reliable Microsoft Sidewinder joystick (non FF) with throttle control.I'm thinking about taking a yoke/pedals set if someone of you can confirm that they do not have this kinda of faulty FF system or an other ThrustMaster Top Gun joystick model NON FF.I like the style of this model with the big "notched" throttle control.Any suggestion is welcomed, and thanks in advance for your answers!!!Regards
September 22, 200520 yr One word: CenteringMy biggest gripe about all three FF joysticks I have used. They will NOT center like a non-FF will.Accuracy can be sharpened quite a bit if you play with the sliders in FS, and even more if you can use the drivers, but it's not as accurate either.I don't fly to split hairs though. At least not yet. But when that time comes, I'm getting a yoke and rudder pedals, no question about it.-JeremyThe Ozark DogfighterHappy Flying!
