October 1, 200520 yr Hi,I have posted a few threads to this board re my new PNY G-force 6600 card that was going to improve on my old 4200 no end.In fact, for me , it was a nightmare of crashing to desktop and flashing quadreants on screen as we I approached high density.I thought I had cracked the problem, but the crashing program started to come back, so I exchanged for a new 6600.Same problems again, unless I took settings back to where I was in old 4200!!So, I have given up, and excahnged 6600 for Nvidia 5500 OC 256 from BFG.Guess what? It works, first time, 25fps, setting way above what I had originally, textures all Very High with weather 3D etc etc.It is also
October 1, 200520 yr I've only just seen your previous thread. It's your power supply. And the 6600 showing as a 6800 shows that it was overclocked - maybe a factory overclock, but an overclock nonetheless. Add overclocked card, substandard power supply and excessive heat - and there's your problem. The 5500 draw about half as much current as the 6600, and generates a lot less heat. So I'd say that was your problem. The 5500 is barely adequate for FS. You would have been better off buying a new power supply, keeping the 6600 and maybe adding a couple of holes in the case or an extra fan or two.Allcott

In this case a Graphics Card. The poor guy (me) that has handed over
