October 15, 200520 yr Hi guys,I want to seriously get into flight simming because its something that ive wanted to do for a long time and because I will soon start filght training. I have found that joystick simply does not work well for me and that pedals are an absolute necessity. There is no replacement for them. What would be the best choice for me? I am looking for an affordable set of pedals and a yoke, preferrably a combo. So far through my research on these forums and generally on the web it seems like the "CH Flight Sim Yoke USB & CH Pro Pedals" would be the best choice, but I read a lot of mixed views about them on this board. Do they really have so many problems? It seems like they would be perfect, I love all the extra controls on there. Are there any other products within reasonable price range that I should consider? Everything else ive seen cost substantially more. Thanks in advance for any help!
October 18, 200520 yr Hi Darys,I've been using the CH yoke and rudder for years now, and they are great. They worked right out of the box for me, though with the CH Control Manager and a registered FSUIPC you will be able to get even more out of them. I recommend visiting http://www.ch-hangar.com to get an idea of the level of support and other people's experiences.Allard. October 18, 200520 yr The only problem you might run into is lubing the CH yoke. Use a non-petreoleum based spray lube like thishttp://www.gunk.com/oe2.asp?pic=L512Give the shaft of the yoke a shot of spray every couple of months and it will last forever. The pedals are great, just as they are.Do not use any lube that contains any petroleum in it, it will eat the plastic parts.
