December 15, 200520 yr Hi allDespite the numerous posts I've seen on this (and other) forums over the last few years advising ATI graphics and LCD monitor users to avoid eDimensional's 3D glasses, the possibilty of having FS2004 in glorious 3D is tempting me to ignore the warnings and give them a try.My understanding is that ATI's drivers don't currently support the rendering of pages in 3D, and the refresh rate on LCD monitors is too low to avoid flickering when using the glasses. To get around this, eDimensional provide a wrapper for the ATI drivers that provides 3D support, and also recommend using software called 'Powerstrip' to solve the refresh rate problem, however many users have had problems getting these to work.I installed ED's ATI drivers last night and was able to get FS2004 to display the 'double-vision' images with no apparent loss of frame rate or stability, nor any flickering (though I don't yet have the glasses, so I can't tell whether it actually working properly). I have not tried using Powerstrip. My question is - as I can get the output on my monitor to seemingly show in '3D', is there a good chance the glasses will work, or will I run into other issues when I try to view the screen through them? The most recent posts I can find on this topic (from June 2005) say that FS crashed when ED's drivers were running. As I seem to have got past that stage, I'm hoping that perhaps ED have refined their ATI support in the past few months.Have any ATI/LCD owners had any luck with the 3D glasses recently? My graphics card is a Radeon X800 SE, and my PC is a 3Ghz P4 with 1GB RAM.ThanksSam
