January 30, 200620 yr Hi dasher7I have a Creative X-Fi and have been running driver version 5.12.14.1144, dated to the 19:th of october 2005. Haven't had any problems at all with this card. I've checked Creative Support/Downloads and the above driver is the latest for this card.Ulf B :-)

January 31, 200620 yr the new drivers are for all other cards. the xfi have this problem fixed out of the box.Anyway, to the original poster, I'd recommend finding the program "driver cleaner pro" and uninstalling the creative drivers, restarting in safe mode and running driver cleaner pro and removing all creative entries. Then rebooting, and installing the new drivers. That worked for me, and I get better performance, and no sound cracking at all
