Unusual freeze up

Featured Replies

First let me say that I hope I am posting into the proper Forum, if not I apologize.Have used most of MSFS products with great success, however I am now running into system freeze up while running FS9. I have had this copy since it was first available but never have had this problem before. Upon Startup I use two different A/C, Default 182S and a D18, while using the 182, departing KOWD for KPSM or KORH everything is fine for approx 10 mins and the system just stops for about 40 seconds, and then restarts, again after 5 or 10 mins it will again stop, sometimes crashes to XP PRO Screensaver and then after maybe 15 seconds FS9 comes back on.Second problem, my logbook keeps getting corrupted. I never edit the logbook and therefor I am stumped as to what might be causing this corruption. I have corrected the problem in FS CFG but it just keeps happening.Third problem, I always bootup to the previous flight, Last night after making a series of flights in the 049 Connie and parking at KORH, I shut the system down, this morning when I started FS9 the previous flight (connie) was nowhere to be found and FS started at KOWD which was not the previous flight.Any suggestions would be appreciated.ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe, AMD Dual Core 4600, 2G DDR 400 RAM,dual 7800GTX nvdia, onboard sound

I am having the exact same problem! I have never had any lock-ups in the past. But for some reason I am getting them about 10 to 12 minutes into the flight also.I wonder if it has something to do with the springtime texture loadings???When I try to fly over the rockies from Colorado Springs to Grand Junction, the sim locks up around Aspen and I have to reboot my computer. No crash to desktop, just a complete lockup.I turned off my overclock settings, but it didn't help. This is getting frustrating.Scott :-(Gamming System Specs: (Built this one myself)AMD Athlon-64 3000+ (Overclocked to 2.35ghz)Gigabyte K8NS nForce3-250 Chipset 8x AGP Main Board2GB DDR400 PC3200 Memory (400mhz)160GB 7200 rpm Hard Drive 16x DVD-ROM Audigy 2ZS Gammer Sound Card (Set at FULL acceleration)5.1 Channel Surround Sound Speakers256MB GeForce-5700 8X AGP Video (Overclocked: Core 260mhz RAM: 430mhz)Cotytech Gaming CaseCH Products Yoke, Rudder Pedals, Throttle QuadrantSaitek Cyborg Gold Joystic for Helo's & Stick equipped aircrafteDimensional Force Feedback HeadsetsSaitek Eclipse KeyboardWindows XP Pro SP2Home Network for using the Instructor StationFS9 Sliders maxed with other settings at their best quality positions.Antalasing: 2XAnistropic Filtering: 4XResolution: 1280 X 1024 32bitTexture load speed: 200Average FPS: 25 (Locked)

I do not have to reboot, FS comes back on its own, also I currently have my calendar set to Summer of 1950. When it crashed to XP screensaver I thought at first that I would have to restart but again, FS came back on its own, almost like it had run out of memory and was catching up. Sure is strange and with this system I would not think it was out of memory ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe, AMD Dual Core 4600, 2G DDR 400 RAM,dual 7800GTX nvdia, onboard sound
