Is 256mb video better than 128mb for low-end Nvidia 5500 (PCI)?

I'm upgrading my PCI (yes, you read that right) video card. I tried the Nvidia 6200, but couldn't get it to work cleanly. Have ordered a PNY Nvidia 5500 with 128mb, but Amazon's been slow and I've been wondering if I should get the 3d Fuzion 5500 with 256mb. Have read in several places that 256mb is no better than 128mb on low-end cards. On the other hand, I'm starting to see FS9 add-ons that recommend 256mb on the video card.FS9 is the only game I play, so what do you think?One thing I like about the lower-memory PNY card: it doesn't need a fan and draws less juice. This a factor, since I've got TrackIR, and CH pedals and yoke drawing juice too.
